2012 AMES LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL REGISTRATION IS OPEN
The league is open to all players regardless of baseball playing experience and abilities.
Practices start around April 1st. Games are played weekday afternoon/evenings at the Hunziker Youth Sports Complex, Brookside Park, and River Valley Park between mid-April and the end of June.
Skill assessments will be held for new players in the AAA, Majors, Juniors, and Seniors.Only players requiring skill assessments will be contacted following registration.
All player families will be asked to participate in a league fundraiser in April, 2012.
Ames Little League Baseball is a VOLUNTEERorganization.We welcome and need the involvement of all parents/guardians. Your assistance in managing, coaching, helping in the dugout, field maintenance, help at practices, and umpiring are critical for the success of this program.

Financial assistance is available for families who are eligible for the free or reduced school lunch program. Please contact the ALLB League President at president@ameslittleleaguebaseball.org or 291-4222 to request more information.
All registration forms need to be received by February 14, 2012 to guarantee placement on teams (whether form is submitted with or without payment). However, Ames Little League Baseball registration fees may be paid in full at time of registration or in increments, if need be, with final payment submission to occur on or before April 30, 2012. Participation and team placement for player registrations received after February 14 cannot be guaranteed. Placement decisions for late registrants will be made by the Ames Little League Baseball Player Agent and Board.
Registration fees cover treat tickets, balls, bats, catcher's equipment, hats, helmets and jerseys. They do not cover socks, pants, cleats or gloves. The fees also provide supplementary medical insurance for players and volunteers. This secondary medical insurance will cover the portion of a claim not paid by an individual's primary insurance. In the case of uninsured individuals, the league insurance assumes full responsibility.
Registration fees also provide game day treats for all players in all divisions.Players will receive a credit of $1.75 to be redeemed at the concession stand after each game.
Ames Little League Baseball player families will be asked to participate in a league fundraiser in April, 2012.Ames Little League Baseball uses the fundraising dollars to help pay for operational costs and to complete special projects.Having players volunteer their time and give their support to this project helps keep our fees low.

Important Little League Regulations Related To Registration
Regulation II (d)
The Board of Directors of the Local League, with the approval of the player involved, reserves the
right to continue as a player, any individual (1) whose residence changes from within the boundary to outside the league’s boundary or (2) who lives outside the league’s boundaries because of a revision of such boundaries even if the child then resides in the territory of another league. Current Major League, Minor League or Tee Ball players or any sibling whose brother or sister met the criteria under II (d) at one time may be retained. Any player meeting (1) or (2) above may be retained for the remainder of his/her career, including Little League, Senior and Big League competition. NOTE: A player who qualifies under this regulation and elects not to participate for a playing season is not eligible to be retained for the subsequent season.
Regulation IV (h)
If a person had previously resided within the league boundaries for two years while serving that
league as a dedicated manager, coach or member of the Local League Board of Directors for two
years, his or her sons and/or daughters are eligible to try out and be selected by teams in that league (1) provided such service to the league from which the person has moved has continued, (2) subject to written agreement from the league within whose boundaries they currently reside and (3) supported by a recommendation of the District Administrator, to Regional Director to the Charter Committee.
12-Year-Old Participation in Minor Division
The selection of players for the various teams within a league shall be in compliance with the Little League Draft Selection System as detailed in the Operating Manual. NOTE: All candidates who are league age twelve (12) must be drafted to a Little League Major Division team, or to a Junior League team. Exceptions can only be made with written approval from the District Administrator, and only if approved at the local league level by the Board of Directors and the parent of the candidate. (See Regulation V [a].)
Volunteer Application
Any adult who will have repetitive (more than twice) contact with players is required to fill out the official Little League Volunteer Application and submit it to the Division Vice President (supervising, managing, coaching, and helping coach counts as contact). Once approved, this individual is a "Registered Volunteer".
